CPD support

The highly skilled nature of health librarianship and fast pace of technological change mean that regular continuing professional development (CPD) is required for everyone working in our sector. A structured approach to CPD also assists us with meeting organisational goals, performance reviews and career development.

We provide sources that may be useful in relation to:

Planning and recording – skills gap analysis, prioritising competencies, target setting, goal development, and creating systems for recording and assessment, including eportfolios.

Engaging in activities – informed choice of formal, informal and non-formal learning.

Maximising impact – reflection, implementation and sharing of learning.

Please note: most links on these CPD pages go to external websites beyond the control of the HSLG.

The HSLG CPD framework document provides a lot of detail about CPD and the role of library associations. To view, see our publications page https://hslg.ie/committee-documents/
