The HSLG Committee are delighted to announce a 6th round of the Literature Search Peer Review Buddy Scheme.
What is it?
The HSLG Literature Search Peer Review Buddy Scheme was established in 2023 as a means of informal peer learning on literature searching for library staff and information specialists based in Ireland. This scheme is a way to help librarians conducting literature searches to form connections, encourage networking and to enable expertise sharing between individuals to improve the quality of their searches.
How it Works:
We are putting out a call to interested librarians or information specialists based in Ireland to register and be grouped with 2 other people to discuss search strategies you have individually developed in PubMed or another agreed database in response to a health focused research question. Similar to previous rounds, the research questions are based on published systematic reviews which are collected on the University of Michigan Taubman Health Sciences Library “Systematic Search Practice Sets” site.
What is the timeline?

Participants are grouped into a triad. They are notified of the triad and the research question they have been assigned. Supporting materials and a prompt sheet on reviewing a literature search will be provided.
27/04-30/06
Each participant takes the assigned research question for their group and develops a search strategy. Participants liaise with each other to arrange a 1 hour virtual meeting to discuss their approach to developing the search strategy for the assigned research question. Each participant should share their search strategy with other members in advance of the meeting.

One member of each group completes the evaluation form.
